The Cohiba Maduro Secretos 8+8+8 Year of the Dog is a collectible and extremely rare offering of the award-winning Maduro 5 line produced to commemorate the Chinese zodiac’s Year of the Dog. The limited release consists of 24 cigars (8+8+8) of the award-winning Cohiba Maduro Secretos, enclosed in a luxurious, limited-edition box produced to represent the stature of the Cohiba brand and the cultural event.
102mm (4 inches) in length and with a 52 ring gauge, the Maduro Secretos cigar presents a rich, full-bodied medium-to-full experience. Wrapped in a five-year-old dark, oily Maduro wrapper, these cigars present an almost unimaginably complex profile with intensely assertive dark chocolate, espresso, and molasses flavors balanced by discreet cedar, sweet earth, and spice. Far greater in character and strength than their minute size would suggest, the cigars are as good, if not better, than those of larger sizes.
The “8+8+8” format is important to Chinese culture because 8 means wealth and prosperity, adding to the value of this release as a gift and collectible. The candle-soft cigars are carefully rolled at El Laguito, the flagship factory of Cohiba in Havana, to provide a silky draw, even burn, and repeatedly sophisticated performance.
